The Women's Ministry operates under our Women's Committee, which coordinates the following ministries of women within our church body. It's mission is: 1. To provide opportunities for spiritual, physical, and emotional support and encouragement. 2. To encourage the expression of various spiritual gifts; especially gifts of encouragement, service, helps, contributing to the needs of others and showing mercy, so that the body of Christ may be built up.
Bible Studies - Share fellowship and accountability with other women while deepening your relationship with God. Precept Upon Precept Bible Studies are offered on Thursday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Additionally, there is a Thursday night Women's Bible Study. Spring Retreat - Come away for a refreshing time of relaxation, reflection, and rejuvenation with other women.
Ladies' Cafe - (Care and Fellowship for Every-One), Several times each year (generally in the school year), the women of our church gather to a time of fellowship, sharing of testimonies, pastoral panels covering hot topic issues, and other types of events. These times of gathering provide great opportunities for multigenerational fellowship and relationships.
Mentorship - Experienced women teach other women about the faith, about life, and how they intersect. Connect with a woman who can help you grow in knowledge and godliness.
Get Well Cards - Everyone needs a little cheering up when they are sick. We send out get well cards to those who are ill.
SBC Piecemakers - Designed to encourage women to exhort one another on our journey as women; women bring their own craft to work on while fellowshipping and sharing our creations. We meet once a month at the church.
Helping Hands - The helping hands ministry is designed to give women relief from cooking when a major life event occurs such as childbirth, sickness, or death in the family. Kid's Connection - A space for children to participate in activities that will help develop social interaction, motor skills, direction following, turn taking, and learning simple games. Structured and free-time activities. Enjoy some adult fellowship too! Tuesdays from 10:30am to 12:00pm in the gym September through April.
Serving Groups - The Serving Groups provide service and clean up during Chapel functions, which include church socials, farewell socials, refreshments after programs, and receptions for memorial services. There are four Serving Groups with about 20 people in each group that are called on about three times a year to serve. Nursery - A place where busy little ones can wiggle and play while parents enjoy the church service. Individuals, families, or teens are welcome to volunteer. If you are interested in serving, contact the church office 907-262-4865 or email@example.com.
Women's Cancer Support Group - They jokingly call themselves "The Club No One Wants to Join," but when cancer strikes, this is the bunch of gals that will offer deep friendship, encouragement, information, and most of all, prayers. This group meets at the church monthly.
Flowers for Recovery and Newborns - Flowers usually bring a smile to someone's face. We send flowers from the Bible Chapel when someone is in the hospital. A rose is given and an announcement made to celebrate when a new baby arrives to one of our married couples.
