Books - July 2011

What the Pastoral Staff is reading – July 2011

Not books that we are using for sermon prep, but other books that you might like…

Jim - A Quest for More by Paul David Tripp. “Best book of (Tripp) that I have read.  Talks so much about how we are focused on us and our Kingdom vs. God and His kingdom.”

Todd - The Bible by God.  (Todd is on vacation – we’ll get a book from him next time!)

Kevin - The Next Story: Life and Faith after the Digital Explosion by Tim Challies.  “How has the digital media changed our relationship with the Mediator between God and man?  Talks about this, a digital gnosticism and other topics.”

Derek - Doctrine: What Christians Should Believe by Mark Driscoll.  “Written for laity, the book is full of Scriptural footnotes and citations.  Excellent resource.”

John - Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business by Neil Postman.  “Not a Christian book, but a very good insight into how communication has changed over the years.”
